Wayne G. Basler Library Policy and Procedures

Community Borrowers

Northeast State does not issue community borrower library cards. Upon completion of an online community borrower registration form, the patron will be registered for one calendar year from the date of registration.  A community borrower has a limit of five items (only three of which may be videos) which may be checked out at any one time. These items may be renewed only once unless a hold request has been placed by another patron in which case they must be returned promptly.

In order to be able to use computers in the library, community borrowers must also agree to the Northeast State Internet/Computer Use Polices located on the online Community Borrower Registration form.

Procedure

Completing a Community Borrower’s Online Registration form

The community borrower who requests library privileges at Northeast State must complete an online registration form. A valid driver’s license must be presented. Also, a valid email address is required. The patron’s information is entered into the Library Management System after the borrower has electronically signed the community borrower registration form and agrees that he/she understands the borrowing regulations.

See the Circulation Manual for details on entering initial registration data and making changes under “Adding Patrons.”

NOTE: The Wayne G. Basler Library reserves the right to revoke borrowing privileges and/or computer use privileges for community borrowers who violate library rules and procedures as outlined in this Policies and Procedures Manual.
