Library Instruction - Introduction

In its support of Northeast State’s educational goals, the purpose of the Northeast State Library Instruction (LI) program is to provide the means for students to become more proficient in their use of the Library and its resources. The Library is dedicated to the concept of the lifelong learner and provides classes, handouts, online research guides, and instructional programs to enhance the learning process.

The Library Instruction program:

  1. Informs students of library services and resources.
  2. Familiarizes students with the location of resources and services available in the library and through its website.
  3. Teaches basic library research/information literacy skills.
  4. Coordinates and enhances classroom assignments with library resources and instruction through point-of-use instruction.
