Stack Maintenance

It is important that periodicals be reshelved in their proper places as quickly as possible to enable users to find them easily.

  1. Put the periodicals to be reshelved in alphabetical order by title, then in reverse chronological order by date within each title - the most current issue on the top, the oldest issue on the bottom.
  2. Bound and unbound back issues are maintained in the same area. They are shelved alphabetically by title, then chronologically within each title.
  3. Check the shelves on a regular basis to ensure that all titles are in the proper place and sequence.
