Early Childhood Education : ECED Resources in the Library

Use this guide to help you find and cite information regarding child development and early childhood education topics, classes, and career information. This guide also offers general guidance about Library services.

Children's Collection

The Children's Collection, located on the third floor in L301, contains books ranging from picture books through young adult and juvenile non-fiction, all in a cheerily decorated space welcoming to children and adults alike.  Intended for use by students for classes and their children, as well as faculty, staff, and the community, the library welcomes suggestions for purchases.  Additional books can be found on a rotating basis in the Children's Reading Area, located behind the Research and Information Help Desk.

Children's Reading Area

The Children's Reading Area is a multipurpose room where students, faculty, staff, and the community can bring their children.  Parents can let their children read or play while they work at one of the built in desks, or they can have an interactive experience with their children, reading and playing with them.  Small groups of children can be brought in for storytime, perfect for our ECED student experiences!  Children do have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian while in the room; they cannot be left unattended.
