The Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS) is a program that provides services to infants and young children who have disabilities or other developmental delays. The TEIS program is a critically important program to supporting young children and their families to reach their optimal development.

Frontier Health uses a quality improvement system to plan, design, measure, assess and improve program performance, especially related to the health care and safety of individuals served.

In 1996, The Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House opened its home in Johnson City, TN and has since achieved to provide a temporary “home-away-from-home” for families of seriously ill children throughout the Southern Appalachian region. Forty (40) counties located throughout Northeast TN, Southwest VA and Eastern KY and covering a 125-mile radius outside the city limits of Johnson City are served by this regional facility.
Our house is nestled in a scenic wooded area across from Niswonger Children’s Hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee. Making it convenient for parents, who have been uprooted from their daily lives, to be near their seriously ill child, yet, have a temporary nurturing environment to sleep, have the comforts of a “home-away-from-home”, support, and peace-of-mind so they can focus and be readily available if there is an emergency with their child.

First Tennessee Human Resource Agency is a nonprofit organization providing much needed services to people in need in Northeast Tennessee. These services may include rural transportation, Meals on Wheels, adult day care, senior employment & volunteer services, in-home personal care and community corrections.

Our Mission is to provide education, direction and support to individuals, families and organizations in order to strengthen and stabilize the community through collaborative efforts of agency programs and cooperative partnerships.

The Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee serves an eight-county region of Northeast Tennessee composed of Carter, Greene, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Washington and Unicoi Counties.

It is our dream to create a positive visible presence for the Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender (LGBT) community in the Tri-Cities of East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. We opened a physical space downtown Johnson City in 2019. (King Centre 300 E Main St Suite 159) Our intention is for the PCC to function as a safe space to gather, nurture, empower, and share one’s experiences. We are creating an environment that fosters understanding, education, acceptance, advocacy and growth. This will be a place where we can nurture and bring together our LGBT community and explore the many possibilities of personal growth. The Pride Community Center will be a space in which we can gather socially, hold meetings, have functions, and pool all the resources of the LGBT community. The PCC will provide information on pertinent issues, such as gay owned or operated businesses, gay friendly businesses, hotlines, LGBT groups, support groups, LGBT activities and events, and LGBT friendly services. The mission of Family Promise of Greater Johnson City (FPJC) is to help homeless and low income families achieve sustainable independence. We provide a network of faith congregations and community agencies to promote a collaborative response for families with children experiencing homelessness.
In particular, this response provides an opportunity for homeless families to remain together as a family while addressing the challenges that confront them in obtaining housing. These families receive counseling, access to a host of services (e.g. job skills training, etc.), and opportunities for growth with issues related to each family’s specific needs.

Court Appointed Special Advocates® (CASA) are community volunteers, just like you, who stand up and speak out to help abused and neglected children. Individuals who volunteer for any cause across the country help to build up our society. Volunteer work is diverse, utilizing individual expertise, skills and talents.

Mountain Region Speech and Hearing Center is a not-for-profit agency founded in 1974 by the Junior League and Sertoma Club of Kingsport. Our Mission is to provide the highest quality speech, hearing and swallowing services to the Appalachian Region and to improve quality of life for all ages through effective evaluation, treatment and education regardless of ability to pay.

Small Miracles was founded through love to enhance the physical, social-emotional, cognitive and behavioral growth of individuals with special needs by means of equine-assisted activities and therapies.
Small Miracles has been serving the Kingsport community since 1995 and currently serves over 300 students per year in the upper Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia regions.

ARCH (also known as the Appalachian Regional Coalition on Homelessness) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that serves as the HUD administrator for homeless assistance in Northeast Tennessee through the Continuum of Care grant program.
We are the first “point of entry” for those with immediate housing needs and help to secure community supportive services in the counties of Carter, Greene, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington.
At ARCH, we organize, facilitate and provide services to end homelessness in Northeast Tennessee by coordinating front line service providers, collaborating with community partners, and empowering the efforts of charities, civic and non-profit organizations working to improve the homeless situation and targeting the direct causes of homelessness.
We provide a variety of services to these organizations, including: Technical Assistance; Consulting; Program Evaluation, Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), Education and Public Awareness Advocacy. Through the provision of these key services, ARCH is able to track results and help local groups qualify for needed state and federal funding.

The Challenge
Military children separated from their parents due to deployment can experience increased levels of anxiety, fear, and depression that may lead to trouble in school, bullying, substance abuse, and increased risky behavior.
How We Help
Our Dealing with Deployment Program is designed to guide families as they prepare for a deployment, offers strategies for staying connected while separated, and helps families plan for their homecoming.

We provide evidence-based, trauma-informed therapeutic and educational services that are individualized to meet the unique needs of adoptive and guardianship families. Our seamless, statewide system of intensive in-home services, diverse educational offerings, and supportive enrichment activities are available to any family who has adopted or assumed guardianship through the public child welfare system in Tennessee. Additionally, families who have adopted through the public child welfare system in another state and subsequently moved to Tennessee are eligible for ASAP services. Families who have adopted through private, domestic, or intercountry channels are eligible for ASAP services on a sliding scale fee basis.

For over 25 years, we have improved the health and wellness of teen parents and their babies by educating them in all aspects of pregnancy. All of our classes are FREE OF CHARGE and available to teens age 19 or younger who are pregnant for the first time.
YWCA MOMS R US Vision is to empower teen parents and parent-to-be with education, resources, and encouragement to support their health, academic studies and overall well-being. Being a young parent isn’t easy, but with determination and the right support, we envision a bright future for all teen parents and their families.
