1867 House Bill 805"HB 805 was passed as an amendment to the "Act to limit the elective franchise" of 1866. The amendment upheld the franchise restrictions of the previous legislation, but extended voting rights to all eligible male citizens, 21 years and older. It also stipulated that African Americans be prohibited from holding public office or serving on juries."
