Reclaiming our Past: Interviews from The Blake

Reclaiming our Past: The Truth about Tennessee

The Project

In Fall 2024, the officer team of Northeast State Community College's Phi Theta Kappa chapter, Alpha Iota Chi, partnered with The Blake at Kingsport to capture and share the rich narratives of its residents. This initiative, part of Phi Theta Kappa's "The Power of Stories" project, emphasized the profound impact of storytelling in preserving history and fostering connections.

Through these interviews, students documented the diverse experiences, wisdom, and personal histories of some of the Blake's residents. This project celebrated their lives while bridging generational gaps, providing invaluable insights into the past and inspiring future generations.

The collected stories are housed in this library database, serving as a testament to the enduring power of storytelling. These narratives celebrate the resilience, courage, and wisdom of The Blake's residents, ensuring their legacies continue to inspire and educate. We look forward to expanding this collection in the future.
