Most students enter college not knowing how to utilize an academic library.  The Librarians at Northeast are here to help our students make that transition, and one way that we do that is through formal instruction sessions.  From general library overviews, to specific resources, to information literacy skills, our sessions can be tailored to the needs of your individual class.

When you schedule a class, please have a preferred date, as well as a backup date in the event that the schedule is full during your first choice.  We also need the number of students, where you want the session to occur, and what you would like to accomplish with the library instruction.  Any specific assignments that students are completing are especially useful for the librarians.  If you are requesting more than a general overview, the librarian assigned to your class may contact you for further details.

Scheduling:

  • Classes can be in-person, live via zoom, or through online recorded videos.
  • Classes can be scheduled by calling the Library at 423.345.2429, or emailing the Librarians at libmail@northeaststate.edu
